The women featured are:
Jeanne Baret (1740-1807) - Recognized as tthe first female to circumnavigate the globe, but in the late 1700s had to do so disguised as a man.
Isabella Bird (1831-1904) - A solo woman traveler who rode her horse frontward "like a man" through America, Asia, and the Middle East.
Annie Smith Peck (1850-1935) - The audacious mountaineer scaled peaks all over the world and stuck a “Votes for Women” flag in a summit in Peru.
Bessie Coleman (1892-1926) - The first African-American pilot, who opened an aviation school for any race or gender.
Freya Stark (1893-1993) - An Anglo-Italian cartographer who mapped the Arabian desert and corrected many inaccurate maps.
